International Agriculture & Agri-Food Committee:

Made up of volunteers representing the Southern Alberta community, the International Agriculture & Agri-Food Committee (IAC) operates within the framework of the Calgary Stampede. The IAC serves as a connector between the Stampede, Southern Alberta agriculture and international agriculture & agri-food guests before and during the Stampede. With a reputation for success and positive leadership, the committee strives to be a meaningful contributor to the success of the Stampede, the Agriculture department and the Southern Alberta agriculture & agri-food industry.

Mission:

Our mission is to bring members from the world’s agricultural and agri-food community together to share ideas, to facilitate business opportunities and to foster friendship and cultural understanding. 

Where in the World do you Farm Campaign:

Our “Where in the World do you Farm?” campaign is meant to invite international guests with an interest in agriculture & agri-food to our IAC booth in the Agrium Western Event Centre to meet with us. And also to invite Southern Alberta agricultural and agri-food exhibitors and participants with an interest in doing business internationally. 

Our booth is open daily July 6 to 15 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

International Agriculture Visitors:

If you are an international visitor from the agriculture and agri-food industry, if you represent an international agriculture group planning to attend the 2018 Calgary Stampede, or are a part of the Southern Alberta agriculture and agri-food community,we welcome you to connect with us.

Agriculture has always been at the heartbeat of Calgary Stampede. Agri-business Seminar:

 On Wednesday, July 11, 2018 the International Agriculture and Agri-food Committee will host a North American Agritrade event under the theme; “ Innovation-Trade-Prosperity”.  This event is designed to increase knowledge and understanding of existing agricultural trade between the Canada, US and Mexico and the value this will bring to the agriculture sector with expected future increases in trade.  The event is being organized in co-operation with Alberta Agriculture and Forestry and Calgary Economic Development. The morning event will conclude over lunch with high level VIPs from all three countries. Held at the BMO Centre, attendance will be by invitation to leaders in the agriculture and agrifood community.
