Come and see the vintage brawn of the barn! Restored vintage tractors, built in 1960 or earlier, will square off in six different weight classes in this popular invitational event in the Northern Lights Arena Saturday July 7 and in the Nutrien Western Events Centre Sunday July 8. The winners will be determined by the highest aggregate score over two pulls.

Included during the Vintage Tractor Pulls this year is Tractor Up, where competitors will display their driving prowess in a head to head matching of skills.

Take advantage of a rare opportunity to get up close to these beautifully restored Vintage Tractors at the Show and Shine! Vote for your favourite tractor via Twitter or paper ballot at the Saturday July 7 Show and Shine taking place in Country Trail.

2. Hoods are to remain on tractors.

3. Tractors must be painted, rust and dirt free.

4. Single tires ONLY permitted.  No steel wheels may compete.

5. Additional weights must not at any time interfere with operator or controls or said tractor will be disqualified for that pull only.

6. Hitch height:  MAXIMUM HEIGHT FROM THE GROUND TO THE TOP OF THE DRAW BAR SHALL BE 18 INCHES.  Hitch height must be such that the tractor shall maintain stability at all times.  This is interpreted to mean that the point of "draft" shall not exceed 18 inches.

7. There will be zero tolerance for alcohol or drugs.

8. Drivers are expected to wear appropriate attire, defined as long sleeved collared shirt, long pants and closed toe shoes.

9. For safety reasons, there will be no passengers allowed on the tractors during the cavalcade to the Stampede grounds.

10. The winner of the class shall be determined by the total of two pulls.  Ribbons will be presented up to and including third place in each class.  Each contestant that participates in the Stampede Vintage Tractor Pull will receive an appreciation gift and a special invitation for two to a private Stampede dinner.

11. The contestant will be stopped if:

          d) Driver bounces, or is not on seat at all times.

When the tractors are backing up to hook onto the sled, the driver must raise both hands.  When the tractor is finished pulling, they will be flagged to stop. A FIVE FOOT PENALTY WILL BE IMPOSED IF THE DRIVER DOES NOT STOP WHEN THE FLAG IS DROPPED.

12. Only the drivers and contest officials will be permitted in the track area during the actual competition.
